CONSTRUCTABILITY REVIEW AND DESIGN SERVICES
KLS provides high-quality, independent pre-construction plan reviews. Using a multidisciplinary constructability review process, we have discovered errors, omissions, and uncoordinated and unconstructible conditions existing within client plans and specifications. This process has helped clients receive more accurate bids, minimize change orders and RFIs during construction, and maintain on time-on budget projects that save valuable resources.

  2. Leesburg Park and Ride Lot (700), VDOT.
  3. Bennning Road Rehabilitation, DDOT
  4. Rehabilitation of 14th Street Bridge over Potomac River, DDOT.
  5. Reconstruction of 2nd Street NE from Massachusetts Avenue to M Street, DDOT.
  6. Reconstruction of 1st Street NE from K Street to New York Avenue, DDOT.
  7. Reconstruction of four underpasses beneath the CSX railroad tracks, DDOT.
  8. 11th Street Bridge (3).
New York Avenue Bridge
KLS conducted constructability review(s) as well as extensive field investigations to develop the Transportation Management Plan (TMP) for the New York Avenue Bridge over CSX. The TMP involved numerous projects:
  1. Resurface/Rehabilitate of Brentwood Road.
  2. Replace 9th Street Bridge.
  3. Rehabilitate New York Avenue Bridge.
  4. Traffic Safety Improvements.
  5. Reconstructe First Street NE.
The estimated construction cost is more than $100M.
11th Street Bridge
For the 11th Street Bridge project KLS will conduct safety review(s) as well as extensive field investigations, including traffic analysis for developing the Transportation Management Plan (TMP). The estimated construction cost is $265M.
Benning Road Rehabilitation
KLS conducted constructability and safety review(s) as well as extensive field investigations and traffic analysis to develop the Transportation Management Plan (TMP) for the Benning Road reconstruction. The estimated construction cost is $20M.
Norfolk Light Rail Design
KLS conducted safety reviews (including non-motorized accommodations) on all stages of design, including roadway, track and stations. Project consists of 11 miles, 10 stations. Estimated Cost is $288M.
