DDOT Georgia Avenue Exclusive Bus Lane and Streetscape
|
KLS is currently under contract to implement the land use and urban design vision for the Georgia Avenue Transit Way.
The project is intended to develop design plans for the corridor by incorporating a transit priority lane.
The proposed work also includes five (5) new traffic signals for all intersections between Florida Avenue and
Barry Place to provide safe vehicular, bicycle, and pedestrian movements. Additional activities include many new curb
and gutter, signing and marking, upgrading pedestrian amenties to ADA requirements, landscaping (inclusive of LID designs,
as applicable), drainage/hydraulic to improve water flow, new bike lanes, and required MOT. The corridor design is intended
to significantly improve safety and mobility and provide the residents with an improved quality of life.

Signal Phasing / Timing modifications in Georgetown
|
KLS reviewed and made recommendations for improving signal phasing at more than 25 intersections
in the Georgetown Transportation Study.

HSIP Program
|
Numerous high crash locations were reviewed under the HSIP Program for DDOT. Recommendatioons involved all E's
(Engineering, Enforcement, Education, Evaluations, EMS, etc).
